A video shows an allegedly inebriated Chinese woman abuse Benglauru police in the wee hours of Wednesday. She and her husband were arrested for assaulting two policemen.

According to DCP Bengaluru (East) N Satheesh Kumar, Jiaxi Yu and her husband Prashanth Hiremath were riding near Manekshaw Parade Grounds when the incident occurred. After medical examination, a case of drunken driving and voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant was registered.

“They were turning towards one of the roads and fell while taking a turn. Police personnel-Lingaraju and Fayaz, who were deputed near the parade ground went to help them. But as soon as they got there the woman started hurling abuses at them. They immediately realised that both were drunk,” he said.

The video shows the woman repeatedly calling someone ‘stupid’. She asks the police to go to the station. When the police ask her to get into the jeep, the man assures he is not drunk and can ride the bike to the station.

Satheesh said that a female constable was called to the location after the woman turned violent.

“They were taken to the Commercial Street station. Based on the woman's documents we learned the woman is a teacher in China. She had come to India a few months ago and is living in south Bengaluru,” he said.
