Woman sets herself on fire in Bengaluru after fight with husband over fish curry

After a fight with her husband over fish curry, a Bengaluru woman set herself on fire on March 3.

She suffered 10% burns and is stable. The incident happened the couple’s home in Tarabanahalli, Chikkajala in north Bengaluru.

According to a Times of India report, Police said that 36-year-old Anjali, a labourer had fought with her husband who accused her of not knowing how to make fish curry.

This reportedly escalated into a heated argument following which she doused herself with kerosene and set herself on fire in the kitchen on Thursday night.

Her husband Venkateshwarappa, who reportedly noticed the fire, called out to the neighbours for help. They put out the fire and rushed Anjali to Victoria Hospital.

The police have detained Venkteshwarappa.
