Watch video of staff dancing the garba in ICU ward of a Gujarat hospital

Written by : TNM Staff

In a room decorated with balloons, a group of people played the garba. It would have been a perfectly natural activity this time of the year, were it not for the fact that the room was the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in Ahmedabad, which a minister had visited some hours earlier.

TV9 Gujarati uploaded a video of a group of presumably hospital staff, dancing the garba to loud music in the ICU of Sola Hospital. In the video uploaded on Monday, elderly people can been seen in the background. Usually, even mobile phones are not allowed inside the ICU wards fearing disturbances they might cause to patients.

Earlier on Monday morning, Health and Family Welfare Minister Nitinbhai Patel had inaugurated a new dialysis centre at the hospital. He has denied any knowledge of this.

TV9 Gujarati reported that the minister had sought a report from the hospital.

News agency ANI quoted Medical Superintendent of the hospital HK Bhawsar saying, “This shouldn't have happened.”
