Tesco came to terms with the sexist copy written on one of its Marvel superhero Alarm clocks and took it off after a 7 year old girl posted a photograph of herself showing discontent with the copy went viral, reported the Consumerist.

The copy which read “Fun gifts for boys” which was noticed by the girl, Maggie was seen at a store in Dorset, England, according to the report. The report also accounted the mothers reaction to the sexist piece of advertising where she said, “Well that’s wrong! Anybody can like superheroes, they’re being stupid aren’t they?”

She took a picture of her daughter making a disappointed face while pointing her tiny finger at the copy and posted it on twitter.

Segregating target audiences is what leads to advertising copy being biased and suggestive in nature. This forms a perfect example of what major corporations do to push their products.
