The News Minute | September 7, 2014 | 11:45 am ISTJournalists belonging to popular Telugu news channels TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothi which have been blacked out in the state protested outside Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's house in New Delhi on Saturday. The protests have led to a few journalists being detained by the police on Sunday.The journalists who have garnered attention about the blackout on social media took to the streets demanding immediate attention by the Telangana CM after orders by a tribunal to lift the ban was not followed through . On Sunday, journalists Anchor Swecha, TV9 Delhi Bureau Head Shravan and Correspondent Ramu belonging to TV9 were forcibly taken to the Tuglak Road Police Station in Delhi in relation to the protests.                                                                             However, CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao who was in the capital to meet PM Narendra Modi did not meet the journalists on the long-standing issue of the blackouts of the two channels after an allegedly "derogatory" programme was aired on the channel.Dinesh Akula, executive editor of TV9 said "The Telangana journalists and union leaders have criticized the dictatorial attitude of the cable operators terming it undemocratic.Even the centre’s strong remarks in Rajya Sabha on the illegal ban ... did not evoke any response from the state government."The journalists have been protesting against their 80-day blackout of TV channels in Telangana.
