Three young women from Chechnya in Russia have reportedly been detained for allegedly duping the ISIS into giving them money for travelling to Syria to join their cause. The ISIS is known to use social media to recruit people from across the world, and the three female "con artists" used the very tool to swindle members of the terror outfit, states a RT report.

Chechnya, with a predominant Muslim population, is viewed as a hotspot for recruiting by the ISIS. After the ISIS got in touch with the women, the expressed their interest in joining their campaign in Syria. Their only obstacle, they said, was they didn't have the money to travel. After the money was transferred to the women, they deleted their social media accounts that they used in the scam.

The girls reportedly managed to take around $3,300 from the ISIS men till their luck ran out and they were caught by the E unit of Chechen police.

According to the RT report, Valery Zolotaryov of the E unit told the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper, "I don’t recall any precedent like this one in Chechnya, probably because nobody digs deep enough in that direction. Anyhow, I don’t advise anyone to communicate with dangerous criminals, especially for grabbing quick money."
