Written by : TNM Staff

The annual tri-services conference was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on board INS Vikramaditya, about 50kms off the Kochi coast in Kerala, on Tuesday.

It is for the first time that the Combined Commanders Conference is being held outside Delhi, following a suggestion by the PM himself that such conferences should be hosted in field areas of the three services.

General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and Admiral Robin Dhawan attended the conference along with Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and a host of senior officers from all the three forces.

After reviewing the tri-services guard of honour at the Southern Naval Command base in Kochi, Modi had a detailed discussion with the service chiefs wherein he was briefed about the country’s defence policies, doctrines and current operational challenges faced by the Army, Air Force and the Navy.
