A month after Taliban gunmen stormed a Pakistani army school killing 150 students and teachers, the school reopened amidst tight security.

Following the December 16th attack in Peshawar carried out by seven Taliban militants, this is the first time the school has opened , reported AP.

It has not been easy for students to come back and attend classes after the tragedy.

According to the report, Abid Ali Shah found it exceptionally difficult to get his kids ready for school without his wife. A teacher at the school, she had been killed in the attacks.

While a ceremony marked the school’s reopening, classes began are set to begin on Tuesday.

Media and other vehicles were kept away from the school where newly installed barbed wire line the compound walls, said the report.
