Jan Lokpal Bill: Prashant Bhushan challenges Delhi CM Kejriwal to a debate through radio ad

Written by : TNM Staff

Activist, lawyer and ex-AAP member Prashant Bhushan has released radio advertisements inviting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to a debate on the Jan Lokpal Bill.

In the advertisement, Bhushan says – “It seems that the movement and the country have been betrayed. This is why I am inviting Arvind for an open, public debate on this so that the people can see for themselves who is truthful and who is a liar. Come Arvind, let’s have an open debate on this. I invite you.”

His challenge is in response to the latest edition of the Lokpal Bill that was tabled by the AAP government on 18th November, which he claims goes ‘against the very principles of the anti-corruption movement’. He has also called it a ‘diluted form of the former bill’ that had earlier been tabled in February 2014.

AAP has accused Bhushan of targeting the Delhi government by acting on behalf of the BJP while insisting that no amendments have been made to the original version of the bill.
