IndiGo to buy 250 A320neo aircraft

IndiGo airlines on Wednesday placed a $25.5 billion order with aircraft maker Airbus for 250 A320neo planes, reports The New Indian ExpressIndiGo's order is being touted as the single largest-ever aircraft order to an European aircraft manufacturer. The list price for each of these ordered aircraft is $102.8 million.

One of the largest domestic airlines, IndiGo will use the new planes in both domestic and international routes. 

The report quotes Aditya Ghosh, president, IndiGo, as saying in a statement, “This new order reaffirms IndiGo’s commitment to the long-term development of affordable air transportation in India and overseas. The additional aircraft will enable us to continue to bring our low fares and courteous, hassle-free service to more customers and markets and will create more job opportunities and growth.”
