HSBC UK sacks employees for making mock ISIS execution video

Written by : TNM

HSBC UK has sacked six of its employees who acted in a mock video dressed up like Islamic State (IS) fanatics about to behead a man. The stunt was carried out by six men during a team building exercise, and they posted the video of the mock execution using a coat hanger on Instagram.

The Sun newspaper reported about the 'insensitive' seven second video in which the men in overalls and balaclavas shout 'Allahu Akbar' and then laugh a bit, all the while holding the coat hanger like a knife on a colleague kneeling down. Watch the video here.

“We do not tolerate inappropriate behaviour. As soon as The Sun brought this video to our attention we took the decision to sack the individuals involved. This is an abhorrent video and HSBC would like to apologise for any offence.” HSBC

Though the employees had deleted the video after initial uproar, the bank went ahead and sacked the men.
