Germany is livid at revelations that US National Security Agency was spying on them. The Germans seem to have found a way to counter US' spying- get back to typewriters.

USA Today reports that though the German government will continue to use encrypted e-mails and phones, but it could also expand its use of typewriters.

The report quotes Patrick Sensburg, the head of the German parliament's investigation into U.S. spying saying that the Germans are even considering using non-electronic typewriters.

The Independent says the spying scandal deepened when it emerged that a double agent embedded in Germany’s Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND) intelligence service was passing information from Germany's inquiry into the NSA’s actions.
