An FIR was registered against All India Majlis-e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi on Monday by the Kishanganj district administration for allegedly making provocative speech at an election rally in Bihar on Sunday.

According to a reports, the police are also probing if there is a connection to Owaisi's speech and damage to idols at two temples in the town, which were discovered on Monday morning.

Owaisi also allegedly used derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all other members of Parliament, including many BJP members.

An FIR has been lodged under sections 153A and 188 of the IPC at the Kochadhaman police station.

While Section 153A deals with promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony, section 188 deals with disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.

The AIMIM is contesting 6 of the 20 seats in Seemanchal, which has a substantial Muslim population.

This is not the first time that the Hyderabad legislator from Chandrayangutta is in trouble, as he has been booked multiple times in the past and was even arrested in 2013 for a 'hate speech.'
