The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG)’s has estimated financial irregularities to the tune of Rs 25,000 crore in the Gujarat government’s finances, states a report by The Times of India. 

Five different audit reports, for the year ended March 2013, were presented by the CAG on Friday in the Gujarat Assembly, in the last day of the budget session.The reports pointed out that around Rs 1,500 crore undue benefits were given to some companies including Reliance Petroleum, Essar Power and Adani Group. 

The Gujarat government has also been criticised in the CAG reports for mismanagement of financial resources and poor budgetary control, further states the report. 

Grants worth Rs 13,049.67 crore were left unused in two instances.
