The bride from Maharashtra who had requested for a toilet instead of a wedding present has been rewarded Rs 10 lakh by an NGO for sanitation.According to a report in The Indian Express, Sulabh International lauded Chaitali Galakhe from Akola by announcing the reward on Sunday.While making the announcement, sanitation expert and mentor of Sulabh International Bindeshwar Pathak said, “I see it as an achievement of Modi when his government is completing one year in office.”Also Read: The only present in this bride’s wishlist was a toilet The bride, had earlier discovered that the house of her in-laws did not have a toilet. She reportedly told her parents that she did not want a refrigerator or a television as a gift but would have a toilet installed at her future home instead. Her parents are said to have been surprised at the nature of her ridiculous demand, but eventually gave in.“At the time of finalising the marriage, I had no idea, but later I found that my in-laws home had no toilet.
