Arvind Kejriwal to announce draft bill for Delhi statehood

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday will announce the draft bill of statehood to Delhi.

The bill will be made public to seek opinion and suggestions from the people, reported ANI.

After the final draft is tabled in the coming session of Delhi Assembly, it will be sent to the Centre for Parliament’s approval.

The Parliament is required to amend the National Capita Territory Act for statehood to Delhi.

Previously, former Home Minister LK Adwani had also tabled the Delhi Statehood Bill in Parliament.
