In a first for its operations in India, tech-giant Apple is looking for an officer to liaison with the government.A report in The Economic Times mentions that the iPhone manufacturer is looking to focus on the South Asian market more. The company has registered an increase in sales due to discounts and buybacks in the area and because of high demand for their products in the region.The company called out to applicants on LinkedIn. It also mentions that India is a crucial market for the Cupertino-based giant.“Apple would view the Indian market as what China was some years back. The India market is right now at an inflexion point in terms of Apple's core product offering - smartphones, music players, laptops, smart watches and media such iTunes and Apple Music - and Apple cannot afford not to play a significant role in this market,” Jayanth Kolla, co-founder of a telecom research firm told the newspaper.
