S M Krishna’s protégé Kannada actor Ramya has demanded an AICC inquiry into her defeat, alleging that the rivalry between Ambarish and Krishna had cost her the Mandya Lok Sabha seat.

Ramya has complaint to Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the rivalry between supporters of senior Congress leader M H Ambarish and S M Krishna had cost her the election. In the complaint, she has said that Congress workers and leaders in Mandya had created a ruckus frequently during her campaign, which led to her defeat.

She has named several leaders in her complaint, several of them supporters of Ambarish, such as Amaravati Chandrashekar, Srirangapatna Block Congress President Lingaraju, former MLA L R Shivaramegowda, M D Ramesh Raju and several others.

She accused Ambarish of failing to unite the party workers and leaders in Mandya, and asked for a team to investigate the reasons for her defeat in Mandya.
Ramya lost the election to C S Puttaraju of the Janata Dal (Secular) by just 5,518 votes.
