RSS worker assaulted, hartal in Kayamkulam

The News Minute | July 11, 2014 | 06:08 pm ISTThe Sangh Parivar has called for a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Pathiyoor panchayat, near Kayamkulam, on Friday in protest against the attack on two Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activists.The incident occurred late on Wednesday when Ratheesh, 20, and T.S. Babu, 30, both RSS activists, were hacked by unidentified persons. They were admitted to the Alappuzha Medical College Hospital with serious injuries.According to sources, the region has been witnessing a political animosity between the CPI(M) and the Sangh Parivar-BJP in recent times. It was alleged that DYFI activists had recently taken off flags that had been hoisted by BJP activists. The attack on Ratheesh and Babu allegedly by DYFI activists was a result this tussle.
