Palakkad: Locals spot charred body of man in West Fort area of the town

The partially charred body of a man was found in the West Fort area of Palakkad town on Tuesday morning.

Locals alerted the police when they spotted the body near the market area in Palode junction at around 8.30 am. Police are yet to identity the deceased, but remain hopeful as the face was not affected by the burns.

"He might be around 60 years old. The face is not burnt, so we will probably be able to identify him soon," Manojkumar, R Town South Circle Inspector told The News Minute.

Police are yet to register a FIR in connection with the incident.

In July, in Chittur taluk in the district, burnt bodies of a mother and daughter were found after a dog was found carrying parts of their corpses.
