Once again, Congress in Kerala embarrassed for taking donations from bar owners

The News Minute | December 7, 2014 | 1.05 pm ISTCongress President in Kerala VM Sudheeran does not want votes from bar owners in the state, but it looks like the party is not averse from collecting money from those running bars.A complaint has been lodged with the state Congress and district Congress president against Vizhinyam’s Kottukal Mandalam Congress president for collecting Rs. 20, 000 from Heritage Hotel which has a beer parlour attached to it.Read- Sudheeran's Yatra Committee took donation from a bar ownerThe complainants who released the copy of the receipt which clearly shows that the hotel owner donated Rs. 20,000 to the party are agitated. They allege that the Congress Mandalam president went alone and collected the sum from the hotel owner, Asianet News reported.Also, the complainants say that the Congress Mandalam president issued a receipt of the mandalam committee despite being told that the fund raising for Sudheeran's Jana Paksha Yatra of Thiruvananthapuram should be done only using the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) receipt book.
