Now VS Achutanandan says Chennithala, K Babu took bribes

The News Minute | January 5, 2015 | 2.50 pm ISTKeeping up the saga of allegations and counter-allegations in Kerala alive, Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has alleged that state Home minister Ramesh Chennithala and Excise minister K Babu have taken Rs. 19 lakhs as bribe from Bar owners.Achuthanandan has asked them to resign and face the enquiry. The Left leader made this allegation in his speech at Thiruvananthapuram on Monday. He was speaking at the inaugural function of the LDF protest seeking the resignation of finance minister K M Mani and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.Home Minister Chennithala has rubbished VS' allegations saying they were baseless and deserved no merit.Earlier, a bar owner had alleged that Finance Minister K M Mani had taken a bribe from bar owners, promising to renew licenses of bars that had bee cancelled by the government in early 2014.
