‘I wanna be naked, I born as naked’: Director’s video trolling CBFC for cuts on ‘Kathakali’

Written by : TNM Staff

After Bollywood movie ‘Udta Punjab’ bore the brunt of CBFC’s senseless censorship just a week ago, Saijo Kannanaikkal’s debut Malayalam movie ‘Kathakali’ was recently refused a certificate by the board over ‘nudity’.

The movie-makers, with the backing of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), had moved the Kerala High Court in the matter and even staged a protest led by FEFKA general secretary B Unnikrishnan in front of the CBFC regional office at Chitranjali Studio in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday.

But the director Saijo has the perfect response to it – a hilarious music video on how he likes being naked. It is with subtitles, so if you don’t understand Malayalam, it is still a lot of fun. Time to quit, Pahlaj.
