The News Minute | March 30, 2015 | 6.45 pm IST An all-women enterprise based here in Kerala has launched an e-commerce portal to help rural and home-based artisans market handicraft and other handmade items.Desihands.com will look at the untapped online market where upcoming designers, part-time craftsmen and students can launch their products on the national stage. The e-commerce portal is the brainchild of Pretty Sunny, a post-graduate in social work, with an interest in socially relevant entrepreneurship."When most online portals focus on large-scale and retail products, the vast segment of small-scale producers are left out and they do not get an opportunity to compete in the national market," said Sunny.IANSTweet Follow @thenewsminute
