The News Minute | October 4, 2014 | 10.58 am IST“One CPM leader had said that CPI is a party that has no programmes. The person made that comment because he has no knowledge,” this is what CPI state secretary Pannyan Raveendran had to say about senior CPM leader M A Baby. His ire on Baby after the latter's comment that CPI was a party without agenda. The CPI state secretary also said that one should not make public comments on issues which one does not have full knowledge of, reported Manorama Online. “One is required to find out the truth behind an issue and only then speak about it in public,” he said alluding to the CPM leader and former education minister of Kerala M.A. Baby. Raveendran expressed his view through the letter which he had written in the party mouth piece Navayugam. The letter was addressed to the branch secretaries of the CPI. CPM leader Baby’s satirical comment had come at a time when talks of a merger of CPI and CPM were getting serious. “Such comments are made by leaders only for getting applauds from their followers. It is temporary in nature and history has shown that such comments eventually find their place in the dustbin,” Pannyan Raveendran wrote.
