Blame the church leaders, not the RSS for re-conversions: Archbishop in Kerala

Written by : TNM

The News Minute | January 6, 2015 | 10.20 AM ISTArchbishop of Anglican Church of India has said that the RSS and the BJP cannot be blamed for the recent re-conversions. In an interview to the Deccan Chronicle, the Archbishop Stephen Vattapara said that conversions are a continuous process and that it may have intensified because Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister. He in fact criticized the churches for their “inability” to rehabilitate the converts. “The church leaders have no moral right to criticize the re-conversions since they have failed in meeting the needs of the converts. If the community members were shown due consideration, they wouldn’t have reconverted to Hinduism. Since they failed to get help, they have gone back to Hinduism… They left us since we lacked the capacity to provide them the required financial assistance,” he told the Deccan Chronicle.
