Bar owners in Kerala evade appearing before vigilance to give statements

The News Minute | December 25, 2014 | 10.08 am ISTThe bar owners in Kerala who had alleged that the Finance Minister had taken a bribe from them to get their bar licenses renewed did not appear before the Vigilance & Anti Corruption Bureau. Raj Kumar Unni, the president of the Bar Hotel Owners’ Association and another bar owner who were to appear before the agency to give further statements did not do so. Unni has been evading appearance for the third time now, Manorama Online reported.In the preliminary enquiry that was conducted, eight bar owners had given statements to the agency.The V&ACB is planning to seek guidance from legal experts as to how to proceed with the case.
