Appeasement politics continues, Kerala CM meets Bangalore blast accused Madani

The News Minute| July 29, 2014| 9.20 am ISTIn what is a clear sign of appeasement politics, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy met the 2008 Bangalore blasts accused Abdul Nasar Madani on Monday. After the meeting Chandy told the media that Madani’s case should not be extended indefinitely.He also said that Kerala can give Madani any kind of medical assistance of he demands. Right now, Madani is lodged at the Soukhya Hospital in Bangalore. Chandy opined that he is getting better medical treatment there. Madani, is now out on bail for a month for treatment as he suffers fro. various ailments. The Minister also held talks with Dr Isaac Mathai, Managing Director of Soukhya Hospital, on the present status of Madani's health.Chandy who was in the city due to some official engagements took time off just to meet Madani. Madani has been lodged in Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, Bangalore.During the previous elections in 2009, Madani was a much wanted figure in Kerala after launching his own People’s Democratic Party. Both the Left and the Congress wooed Madani to join them, though in the end the Left was successful in roping him in for a tie up. At the time, Madani was pronounced as innocent in the high profile Coimbatore blast case.
