Actor Anu Emmanuel who paired with Nivin Pauly in Malayalam sleeper hit ‘Action Hero Biju’ has come down heavily on Mathrubhumi’s in-house film magazine -Star & Style- for misconstruing the statements that she had made in the course of an interview with them.

The latest edition of the magazine had Anu as its cover girl with a blaring headline: “Malayalam industry doesn’t respect heroines, Anu Emmanuel.”

Anu however claims that the magazine had fabricated her statement. In an Instagram post, she writes, “Recently ‘Star & Style Magazine’ reported me as having said that Malayalam cinema doesn't respect heroines, which in fact, I didn’t. Although the cover is nice, the statement isn't.”

In the interview which Anu had given to the magazine, she apparently says, “Many here -supposedly referring to Mollywood- think that they should be obeyed irrespective of whether they are right or wrong, whereas in other regional languages, our opinions too count. I hence wonder how I will be able to move ahead in such a scenario. ”

Recently there were unconfirmed reports that Anu was replaced by a new comer in an upcoming project starring Dulquer Salman. Anu Emmanuel -daughter of Thankachan Emmanuel- started her career as a child artist in the movie ‘Swapna Sanchari’, wherein she essayed the role of Jayaram’s daughter.

Action Hero Biju was her debut film as a lead actress. Currently the actress is working on two Telugu projects ‘Oxygen’ and another one by Nani.
