2 crore for 'Lalism' performance at NG inaugral : Mohanlal clears the controversies

The News Minute | January 31, 2015 | 12.10 am ISTActor Mohanlal has clarified rumours regarding his payment for a performance by Lalism, a new music band that he has floated, at the opening ceremony of National Games in Kerala.The state cabinet’s decision on Wednesday to pay Rs 2 crore for the on-stage performance of Lalism had invited huge controversy since even Sachin Tendulkar attended the Run Kerala Run, the promotional event of National Games, for free.Later Mohanlal while speaking to media clarified that the amount from the government was not his remuneration but for the expenses of renowned artists who will be participating. “Sachin has not taken any money because he just had his expenses. But the case of Lalism is different, it is a group of renowned artists, I have to take care of their travel expenses, food and accommodation and the money is for these expenses.
