Water tanker didn't have faulty brakes, accident due to rash driving, say transport officials

The News Minute | February 28, 2015 | 09:11 am IST The water tanker, that on Thursday afternoon mowed down several people near the Hebbal flyover and killed two, did not have faulty brakes as claimed by the driver, transport officials who inspected the vehicle said, states a report by Bangalore Mirror. The gruesome accident was not caused due to brake failure but because of rash driving, the officials said. The vehicle's brakes were in good condition, but according to records, Krishna Reddy, the owner of the vehicle, had failed to get a fitness certificate for the transport vehicle, adds the report.Read: CCTV footage captures the horror as water tanker mows down several people in Bengaluru
