Written by : TNM

The News Minute | September 22, 2014 | 4.24 pm ISTA teacher in a government school in Karnataka has been drawing a salary for the last three years without really coming to class as she is sick. The teacher, R V Ramjanagi has been turning up very week to sign the register and thereby claim a salary, but does not actually teach the students at the government school in Rudrapura in Rona taluk, Gadag district. There are around 50 children studying in classes I to IV. There are just two teachers here, and the senior teacher has to keep track of the mid-day meal and ensure that it is carried out smoothly and accounts are maintained, leaving the other teacher to manage all the classes.Despite complaints to the Block Education Officer and the Deputy Director of Public Instruction, no action has been taken.
