Power cut in south Bengaluru for 2 hours on Saturday: List of areas affected

Multiple parts of south Bengaluru will face a power cut for two hours on Saturday, the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) announced on Thursday.

In a statement, Bescom said that power supply will be shut between 12pm and 2pm on December 22 in parts of the city serviced by the Banashankari sub station.

Areas that will be affected include Hosakerehalli, Manjunatha Temple area, VHBCS layout, Srinivasa Nagar, Raghavendra Swamy temple area, Balaji Layout, Girinagar, PES College area, Kathriguppe Main Road, Veerabhadra Vidyapeeta area, Rama Rao Layout, Kempegowda Layout, Janatha Bazar and surrounding areas.

In the last major scheduled power cut in the city, parts of central Bengaluru and eastern fringe of the city were affected on December 10 and December 11 between 10am and 3pm. Areas that were affected in the east zone included Hagadur Road, Kadugodi, Channasandra and Vijayalakshmi Colony. The Central Business District areas that were affected by the outage included MG Road, Brigade Road, Church Street, Residency Road, Lavelle Road, Commercial Street, and Cubbon Road.

Other than scheduled power cuts, Bengaluru has been facing interruptions due to cable faults and other issues, like sparks in transformers.
