Namma Metro incurred loss of Rs 950 cr due to private contractor, HDK alleges

The News Minute | March 28, 2015 | 10.15 am ISTA private contractor’s delay in continuing the construction of the metro line near Vidhan Soudha has allegedly cost the state government a loss of Rs 950 crore.Speaking during the discussion on the state budget in the Assembly on Friday, JD (S) leader H D Kumaraswamy said that the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited had incurred a loss of Rs 950 crore as the private contractor had stopped construction near the Vidhan Soudha for nearly a year. Kumaraswamy alleged that the contractor had stopped work because poor quality machinery was used and claimed that the state government had rejected the suggestion of officials concerned to blacklist the contractor after terminating the contract.
