Husband strangles wife to death, goes live on TV9 to confess

On Thursday afternoon a fire broke out at the Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) building in Chota Maidaan in Shivaji Nagar. The Hindu reported that, over 35 fire-men took an hour to douse the fire. As a precautionary measure a fire tender has been stationed in the area to take care of any minor fire incident from the embers.

Around 2500 Jains in Bengaluru took out a procession from Jain Basti in Chickpet to Freedom Park in protest against the High Court’s declaration of the “Sallekhana” ritual as illegal. The Jain leaders told the Deccan Chronicle that they would also submit a memorandum to the Governor expressing their protest against the court verdict.
