According to a report by Skymet weather, the visibility due to the unusual development, had come down to 50 meters.

The  Indian Meteorological Department, Bengaluru, has predicted fog or mist in the mornings till December 24, with the sky clearing out later in the day.

The fog hit flight operations at Kempagowda International Airport in the city, with as many as 55 flights being delayed between 5 am and 8 am.

According to an airport official, this included domestic arrivals and departure flights. 3 international flights that were scheduled to depart from Bengaluru too, were delayed. With flight operations being stalled for nearly three hours, 2 international flights that were scheduled to arrive at the airport were diverted to Chennai and Hyderabad respectively.

Even as the delay irked many passengers, flight operations resumed at 8 25 am.

Last year in the month of November too, the dense fog had hit flight operations at the airport due to poor visibility.
