The Attibele police arrested the son of Hebbagodu Municipal Corporation member for allegedly assaulting a private bus driver on Sunday.

Thirty-two-year-old Prabhu is the son of Padmamma, who is also the president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Anekal unit.

The New Indian Express reports that Prabhu assaulted the bus driver as the driver did not give way for him. The bus that bore a Tamil Nadu registration was driven by Kumar.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 5pm when Prabhu, who owns a transport agency was heading towards Sarjapur road.

Irked at not being able to overtake the bus on a narrow road, Prabhu who was with a friend, managed to get ahead eventually and stopped the bus.

He is reported to have pulled the driver Kumar out of the bus and assaulted him.

After the locals intervened, Attibele police reached the spot.

Earlier in August, a man had alleged that Congress MLA NA Haris' son Umar had assaulted him in a pub and that the police refused to file an FIR.
