Bengaluru breaks 99 –year-old record for highest rainfall in November

With a week still to go for the month to end, a 99-year-old record for the highest rainfall recorded in the month of November, has already been broken.

 In 1916, the city of Bangalore had received 255.7 mm of rainfall while in 2015, as of Monday, the city’s Met department has recorded 277.5 mm of rainfall.

 The city had received only 319.5 mm of rainfall since the onset of north-east monsoons in October, after a relatively dry south-west monsoon, but since then the city has been witnessing continuous rainfall.

 Met officials said Bangalore is likely to receive light to moderate rainfall for the next two days.
