A 24-year-old techie was brutally stabbed by miscreants on a street near the busy Race Course Road in Bengaluru on Friday. 

Satish P, who is a senior software developer with a reputed IT company and also works with the Shiksha IAS Academy, was in the city for work and was scheduled to leave for Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor in a private bus. 

He had boarded the SRS Travels shuttle at HSR Layout and was scheduled to board the bus to Chittoor at Anand Rao Circle.

According to the High Grounds Police, as soon as Satish got down from the shuttle, he began walking towards the stop where his bus was slated to arrive.

“The incident occurred near a construction site next to the Volvo showroom. While he was on his way, three men blocked him. A brief conversation ensued between the three men and Sathish and they are seen threatening him at knife point,” a police officer at High Grounds Police Station said.

The miscreants then stabbed him in his private parts, stomach and chest. They also hit him on his head with floor tiles from an under-construction site.

A passer-by, who saw Sathish lying in a pool of blood took him to a private hospital nearby and Sathish was later shifted to a hospital in Jayanagar, the police said.

Investigation has revealed that the miscreants had assumed Sathish drove to Bengaluru in his car. “In his complaint, Sathish has said that the miscreants asked him to get into his car. When he said he did not have one, they took him to the under-construction site and assaulted him,” the police added.

In his complaint, Sathish states that he did not know the miscreants. “In the complaint, the victim had said it was a mugging. However, up on viewing the CCTV footage, it looks like the accused knew Sathish. It looks like an act of vengeance,” the police added.

A case of attempted murder and common intention has been registered against the unidentified trio.
