Anupama Shenoy takes her fight to Rajnath, CM Siddaramaiah says let Centre take action

Written by : TNM Staff

Former Deputy Superintendent of Police Anupama Shenoy who resigned from her post over a month ago allegedly over political pressure wrote to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday.

According to The New Indian Express, Anupama is understood to have complained about the political pressure on the police in the state, and also said that the deterioration of law and order in the state has much to do with the incompetency of DG&IGP Om Prakash.

Responding on the issue, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was quoted as saying, “She has taken up the issue with the Centre. Let the Centre take action.”

Audio tapes of telephonic conversations between Shenoy and her superiors, and District Minister Parameshwara Naik that was accessed by Times Now a few days ago indicates how Anupama was transferred from her post at the whims of the minister.

Though reports say that the Centre has sought explanation from the Karnataka Government, Law Minister TB Jayachandra denied any communication from the Centre.

“We have not received any communication from the Centre regarding Anupama Shenoy’s case which has been put up with the Home ministry,” he told TNIE.
