The News Minute | September 28, 2014 | 10:37 am IST The CID recently concluded that a senior Karnataka IPS officer clandestinely took pictures of a woman sitting in a cafe in Bangalore, states a report by The New Indian Express. A 294-page chargesheet has been filed against Additional Director-General of Police (ADGP) P Ravindranath, which has been submitted to the government and the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. The Police had seized the mobile phone used to click the images and it was sent to the Forensic Science Lab, in Ahmedabad. The CID based its conclusion on several reports, including the one by the forensic lab and after examining 38 witnesses, the victim, and cafe employees, adds the report. The ADGP was booked by the Bangalore Police in May this year for allegedly taking 'obscene' photographs of two women in a cafe in Cunningham Road. One of the women filed a complaint against him with the police following which an FIR was filed against Ravindranath and he was arrested.On the day he took the pictures, Ravindranath was confronted by an eyewitness following which he got into a brawl. He denied that he had taken any such pictures and that it was a conspiracy against him by his rivals in the police department. According to the report, now that the CID has submitted its report, it is now up to the government to act.
