The News Minute | November 7, 2014 | 10:05 am IST A nine-year-old girl in Mysuru was allegedly raped by her neighbour, also a minor, states a report by The New Indian Express. The incident is said to have taken place on November 3, but came to light only three days later on November 6 after the girl's aunt took her to a doctor who suspected she was sexually assaulted. The victim's father, a labourer, used to leave her with their 17-year-old neighbour when he went to work as the victim's mother had passed away a few years ago. The victim was left with the accused on the day of the alleged incident too. When she was brought back home, her aunt later suspected something was wrong with her and took her to the doctor where the victim, a standard 3 student, narrated the incident, further states the report. The accused, and one of his friends, were caught by the villagers and thrashed before they were handed over to the police. However, police have told that the accused's friend was not involved in the alleged rape. A case has been registered and police are looking into the matter.
