The News Minute| December 12, 2014| 1.15 pm ISTThe year 2014 saw several popular videos on YouTube contributing to pop culture and trends in the country- from the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to Mutant Giant Spider Dog that went viral. Google in order to commemorate these global trends launched its annual YouTube Rewind video two days ago.The 6-minute video is a combination of the year’s best memes and trends observed in 2014.This year’s video is titled “Turn Down for 2014” and serves as a time capsule for all the viral videos, songs, cameos, most viewed videos, commercials etc.The first time YouTube uploaded a video commemorating the trends of the year was in 2010 which was a simple mash-up of all its top viewed videos. This year though it seems like YouTube has gone that extra mile to produce a music video format of all the best videos of the year.
