Music director-turned-actor Vijay Antony has had a string of successes at the box office since he stepped in front of the camera. From his debut Naan through Salim, India Pakistan, Pichaikaaran and Saithan, all his films have rung in profits for their producers.

And now the actor is awaiting the release of his next film Yeman, for which he reunited with director Jeeva Shankar of Naan fame.

Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Director Jeeva Shankar says that the film, his first attempt at a commercial film, is a revenge thriller set against a political backdrop. “We have completed the film and the screenplay will be the highlight. Vijay Antony will be seen with a twirled moustache throughout the movie,” he said.

He also added that the film will perfectly fit the political scenario of the times.  "So far, filmmakers have come out with political movies from the perspective of the people. But, in Yeman, we will show the events from a politician’s point of view. We have explored how a leader would handle a particular situation.”

Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, which has sunk a large budget into the making of this film, Yeman is expected to be an out-and-out action entertainer. This will be the first time that Vijay Antony will be seen as an action hero, who doles out justice to politicians.

The film also stars Miya George, with actor Prashanth’s father Thiyagarajan playing the baddie. The film is slated to release in February.
