If sources are anything to go by, then superstar Vijay and director Atlee might reunite for another project sometime next year. Having delivered a blockbuster with Theri earlier this year, Atlee was requested by a few producers to ready another script for Vijay. Interestingly, he already had a couple of scripts, and one out of it was locked by Vijay.

Thenandal Films are said to bankroll Vijay 61, and it's most likely to go on the floors early next year and hit the screens during Diwali. There were also rumours that Atlee had plans to direct a sequel to Theri; however, it isn't clear whether the new project would be Theri 2.

Vijay, meanwhile, is busy wrapping up Bairavaa with Bharathan, and the project will hit the screens as planned during Pongal of 2017.
