Telangana government makes big plans for social media platforms to better relations with the public

The News Minute | January 2, 2015 | 7:55 am ISTThe Telangana government in its latest move has decided to use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to better relations with the public.According to a report in the Times of India, all the ministers in the state cabinet are soon expected to have accounts on these networking sites. Plans are also underway for departments to place press releases and information on government programmes in the public domain using social media.The state government's portal is also being revamped to ensure administrative transparency. As of now, apart from the chief minister, ministers like KT Rama Rao, Etela Rajender, T Harish Rao, Jagadish Reddy and Jogu Ramanna have Facebook accounts.This move is expected to boost the morale of the TRS government which is still growing on social media while compared to the influence that its opposition parties like the TDP and BJP have on social platforms.Tweet
