Businessman Raj Kundra, who is the husband of Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty, has dismissed rumours of trouble brewing in their marriage which was recently reported by a few publications online.

Raj was reportedly staying in his office in Matunga for the last two weeks and went home to visit once a day.

Speaking to Bollywoodlife.com, Kundra said that while his work had been keeping him busy of late, speculations surrounding his married life and a possible divorce were baseless. “I think this rumour started when Shilpa was complaining to her friends that I have been working so hard that I hardly had any time to spend with her. I have been working on this huge deal almost 20 hours a day from my office in Matunga and haven’t had any time to breathe, eat or sleep! I just go home for a shower and change,” he told the online portal.

In fact, he added, he was planning a surprise for Shilpa’s birthday which falls on June 8. "This year," he added, "we will keep it simple as last year, we celebrated it in Montenegro with all our family and friends. So this year will be just Shilpa and me. I will whisk her off somewhere for just one night. And of course, it will be a surprise again. Shilpa is my princess so I have to look after her well."

Shilpa and Raj have been married for 6 years and are parents to their son Viaan.
