Ram Charan’s Dhruva to be postponed again?

Written by : TNM Staff

The principal shooting of Ram Charan-starrer "Dhruva", the Telugu remake of Jayam Ravi’s "Thani Oruvan", was wrapped up on Sunday.

The makers had locked the release date for December 2.

However, it looks like the project might get pushed as the post-production work is still pending. The current demonetisation issue might add to their woes.

“Allu Aravind, the producer of the film is thinking of postponing this film as smaller denominations are not fully available. As this is a big release, they need good openings. He is planning to release the film once normalcy is restored in the state,” a source from the film’s unit had told Deccan Chronicle, while adding that the film now might only release on December 9 or 16.

However, it needs to be noted that Suriya’s S3 is hitting the screens worldwide on December 16, in Tamil as well as Telugu and might pose a threat to the box-office run of Dhruva.

Directed by Surender Reddy, Dhruva was earlier planned to be release for Dussehra.

It had to be postponed after Arvind Swami, who plays the antagonist, fell ill and the shoot had to be cancelled for nearly a month.
