Namrata Shirodkar shuts down man who trolled her for no makeup look in 'Maharshi' pic

As a celebrity, especially on social media, every detail of one’s life is open to public scrutiny. And this scrutiny can get rather unkind. That’s what happened with Namrata Shirodkar, former Miss India and actor Mahesh Babu’s wife, when she posted a photo on Instagram.

The photo was a celebratory one, with director Vamsi Paidipally, his wife Malini and Mahesh Babu. The caption was about lauding the release and success of Mahesh Babu’s recent film Maharshi. While the happiness in the photo was quite apparent, one person decided to take note of something completely unnecessary.

An Instagram user by the name of ‘gauravsharma6213’ commented on the photo on Namrata’s appearance. He said it seemed as though Namrata was “suffering from depression”... all because it seemed like she did not have any makeup on.

However, Namrata took the high road, and shut down the troll in a dignified manner.

“Gaurav, you might love women with makeup… maybe you should follow someone who is always made up and suits your criteria! You’re not going to find it on this page. So maybe you should get off it. Sincere request,” Namrata replied.

Her response had 459 likes at the time of writing. Others also supported her in the comments, lauding her response, and saying it wasn’t necessary for women to be decked up at all times.

Namrata was a beauty pageant winner and won the title of Miss India in 1993. She has worked in Bollywood films like Hero Hindustani, Bride and Prejudice and Vaastav: The Reality. She met Mahesh Babu on the sets of Telugu film Vamsi. The couple fell in love and got married five years later in 2005.

According to reports, Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde starrer Maharshi has been doing well at the box-office. It is reportedly one of the few Telugu films to cross Rs 6 crore in collection on the first day, apart from the Baahubali series.
