Written by : TNM

After weeks of speculations, it has finally been made official that Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay’s next project, which will be directed by Atlee, will go on the floors from Wednesday in Chennai.

In the first schedule, scenes between Jyothika and Vijay will be canned, before the crew heads abroad for a long schedule. Initially, the plan was to shoot predominant portions in the US; however, the makers have decided to shoot in Europe instead. In an official statement, the makers also confirmed that Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and SJ Suryah have been roped in for pivotal roles.

Reportedly, the film features some period portions and in these sequences, audiences will see Vijay and Jyothika together. It has also been learnt that Vijay’s current look which includes a beard and a twirled moustache is for the period portion. Scenes featuring Kajal and Samantha will be predominantly shot abroad and the team has chalked out over a month-long schedule across exotic locales. Double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman has been finalised to compose the music while debutant Vishnu will crank the camera.

The supporting cast also includes Vadivelu, Sathyan and Sathyaraj. If everything goes well, the film will most likely hit the screens during Diwali.
